Welcome To AACTEA!
We are
in our second year of operation from our official beginnings on
January 11, 2006. I remember our humble start at a Career
Center Director's meeting in Little Rock. There was a
discussion initiated about the need to form an
organization that could represent the needs of career education at
the state level. The dream was to form an organization that
could join with the AAEA (Arkansas Association of Educational
Administrators). This was to be an organization aimed at
promoting career and technical education.
We have created the dream.
We currently have 61 members and have joined with the AAEA.
This has allowed us to have a representative on the AAEA Board and
this person is our elected President. Our participation with
the AAEA makes us part of the collective influence on the
establishment and execution of educational policies within
Arkansas.
Please read our mission that is
provided on this website. If this mission conforms to your
beliefs then you need to be involved. We are totally a
volunteer run organization that relies on the strengths of our
membership to be successful. I encourage you to get involved
in what ever manner you can.
I look forward to seeing you at
our meetings and helping out. Anything we can do to promote
career and technical education in our state is not only going to
assist our economy but more importantly create successful lives for
our students.
